6th GST Council Meeting held on 11th December, 2016 in New Delhi

The Sixth GST Council Meeting held in New Delhi. The decisions taken are as under:
1: A detailed discussion was carried on the Model CGST and SGST legislation. Out of 197 sections, 99 sections were considered by the Council.
2: Certain provisions including appeals, revision, anti-profiteering clause, transitional provision, etc. are still pending for discussion and further consideration by the Council.
3: The issue of cross empowerment for administrative, auditing and assessing powers between the Centre and the States was not addressed during the meeting. However various options are ready to to be discussed with the Council said Arun Jaitley (Finance Minister).
4: The implementation date for GST  was re-confirmed as 1st April 2017, stating that the government does not have the discretion of time for the same.
